For hourly employees, our system looks at hourly rate and annualizes it based on a 40-hour work week. If employees work less than full-time hours throughout the year, we overestimate their salary so that we can be conservative in providing estimates to our plan sponsors. We also use the salary estimates as projections in the participant dashboards.
