Guideline cares about the privacy of our users and visitors of our websites, and provides options for you to opt out of the sale of your personal information.

Here’s a guide for how to opt out of the sale of your personal information, as well as troubleshooting tips.

How do I opt out of the sale of my personal information?

To opt out of the sale of your personal information:

  1. Visit the main Guideline website and scroll down to the footer at the very bottom of any page. Then, locate the “Your Privacy Choices” link.

  1. In the pop-up menu, toggle the “Advertising cookies” selection to allow or disable use of such cookies.

  2. Click “Confirm my choices” to lock in your designation.

Note that the “Your Privacy Choices” link will open a pop-up on the same page to allow you to designate your preferences for advertising cookies on our website. This pop-up also includes a webform to opt out of non-cookie-based sharing of your personal information for advertising purposes.

Why won’t the “Your Privacy Choices” link work?

If clicking on the “Your Privacy Choices” link does not open up a pop-up window to designate your preferences, it is possible that the cookie preferences on your web browser are causing some issues with accessing the link from our website. For example, your browser setting already has all cookies disabled or blocks Google Tag Manager.

Please note clicking on the “Your Privacy Choices” opens a modal on the same page and not a hyperlink to a new page. This is different from the way our other links, such as our Privacy Policy work.

Why don’t I see the “Your Privacy Choices” link?

If you do not see the “Your Privacy Choices” link on our website, we suggest trying the following step(s):

  • Confirm that you are on the main Guideline website. This link will not be available within any pages of our Help Center.

  • Refresh your browser by clicking Cmd + Shift + R or click the refresh button on your browser.

  • Visit a page of our website that you have not visited before or haven't visited in some time, such as guideline.com/ira or guideline.com/blog.


If you still do not see the “Your Privacy Choices” link on the footer of our websites, it is possible that your browser has an ad blocker in place, or is already configured to block all cookies and/or Google Tag Manager.
