How do I update my name for my Guideline IRA?
How do I update my name for my Guideline IRA?

Here's how to request a name change for your IRA.

Updated over 4 months ago

If you need to change your name within your Guideline IRA, you must provide Guideline with documentation to verify the request. You will not be able to make this change within your dashboard due to security reasons.

Here are the documents we’ll need to support your name change:

  • An up-to-date color copy of a government-issued ID (a driver’s license or state ID card is preferred, but a passport is also acceptable).

  • If you were recently married and your ID has not yet been updated, please share a copy of your marriage certificate.

You can upload these documents securely using the Shared Files folder of your Guideline Resource Library. Please then contact our participant support team to inform us of the uploaded documents and state your requested name change. To help expedite your request, please also include your date of birth and Guideline account ID for verification purposes.
